​Peter Baldwin Illustrations


Peter Baldwin is a Sydney based illustrator and Primary School Teacher. He started drawing at an early age and never stopped. He has illustrated a number of books for children, including the Maxi the Lifeguard series with Affirm Press, the TC series with Scholastic and Granbad with UQP. A diverse range of his work, including posters, comic strips, character designs, pamphlets, logos and educational resources can also be seen with Fox Inc., The Australian Museum, Educational Assessment Australia and The New South Wales Department of Education.


Peter started out his career in the Sciences and has worked in wildlife conservation education for The Australian Museum and Taronga Zoo. Through these experiences, he has gained a deep understanding of the natural environment and always endeavors to help enhance efforts to protect it.


In 2019, his book ‘Maxi the Lifeguard: The Stormy Protest’ won The Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children’s Literature.


Having also worked in many classrooms and school libraries as a Primary School Teacher, Peter has been lucky enough to experience the captivating effect visual illustration has on a younger audience.
